<p>Il Falchetto “Bricco Roche” Nizza Riserva DOCG, Piedmont, Italy, 2018Grape: 100% Barbera, clay/limestone soil, 1 hectare vineyard with 70 year old vines, hand harvested, 30 months minimum ageing including 12+ months in new French oak barrelsProducer Tasting Note:Intense ruby red colour with dark red hints, complex and concentrated scents of black cherry, sour cherry, cassis and plum, red oranges, balsamic notes, coffee, caramel, pepper and vanilla spice. A sumptuous, full bodied palate with flavours of juicy, ripe black fruits, backed up with sweet spices, herbs, tea, coffee and cocoa notes. Persistent, intense and with great acidity. This is the top cuvee from Il Falchetto and will easily age for 10 or more years with careful cellaring.Tenuta Il FalchettoWe are delighted to be offering the wines of Il Falchetto, from Santo Stefano Belbo in Piemonte. The estate is east of Alba close to the border of the Langhe and Monferrato regions. It is owned by the Forno family, whose long history here began in the mid-1600’s. For the last four generations they have been a family of winegrowers and winemakers, devoted to the vine and to wine. Pietro Forno began producing Moscato in 1940 and at the end of the 70s Pietro passed the reins to his children Natalino and Luigi, who renewed the cellar and invested in new equipment. They worked hard improving and honing techniques, always with the maximum respect for tradition and their land.Today the Il Falchetto Estate is proudly managed by brothers Giorgio, Fabrizio and Adriano Forno and includes vineyards in both Cuneo and Asti provinces, in which nine different varieties are cultivated, though the focus and highlight is their world class Barbera. The philosophy is to produce only top quality wines that respect and express the very best that each individual vineyard can produce. For more details of this beautiful estate visit: /en/Food Match: Best served at 16° C.
