<p>A balanced gem from the Scottish island.</p><p>Not much happens on the island of Jura. This Scottish island just north of Islay has a population of <em>5000 red deer,</em> but only <em>200 people</em>. But Jura has long had its namesake Whisky — ever since the <em>Jura Distillery </em>was founded in <em>1810</em>. The facility fell into a bit of disrepair in the early part of the 1900s but was resurrected again by Robin Fletcher and <em>Tony Riley-Smith </em>in 1963. Things have gone well since then and Jura is now a highly respected Single Malt once again with fans around the world who crave their hybrid island/lowland style.</p><p><em>Isle of Jura 19 Year Old The Paps </em>was first intended for the Travel Retail market but we thought you deserve to try it, too. What is it? Oh, just an insanely delicious 19YO Single Malt that was finished in casks that used to hold <em>40YO Pedro Ximénez Sherry</em>. It was named in honor of the famous three mountains Paps of Jura on the western side of the island. Why are these mountains so famous? Well, apparently their <em>distinctive conical shapes</em> have always reminded everybody of breasts. Pap is the ancient Old Norse word for breast, BTW. So, sip on balanced and subtle flavors of green apple, thick caramel, and chocolate chip in honor of the beauty in the form of… mountains.</p>
