Ripe citrus, white flowers and a touch of smoky reduction on the nose, while the palate is medium-bodied, creamy and juicy before finishing with grip and vigorous, precise acidity. Some oak is present, but very delicate. Drink it now to enjoy all of its elegant, lively character.

Two-thirds of the fruit here is sourced from hillside vineyards for freshness and concentration (Les Cloux and Narvaux) while the other third comes from lower-lying vineyards for richness and breadth (Limosin, Crotots and Criots). The blending of parcels brings together the qualities of the four terroirs, resulting in a balanced, elegant, mineral wine with a very fine finish.

Jean-Philippe Fichet is located in Meursault, where he dedicates his craft to bringing out the very best from some village vineyards, no matter whether premier cru or unclassified. He now has a clutch of holdings in some of Meursault’s finest lieu-dits such as Tessons and Chevalières. Low yields are achieved in the vineyards through severe pruning, and in the cellar, JP believes in natural yeasts and long élevage (18 months minimum) without lees stirring in large barrels for the first 12 months, followed by 6 months in stainless steel tanks so as not to tire the wines and preserve freshness.

Origin: Meursault, Bourgogne, FranceVintage: 2022Grape varieties: ChardonnayFood pairings: poultry, prawns and fatty fish, creamy sauces, cheese Bottle size: 75clABV: 13%

ORGANIC
