<p>They are calling it the most robust Kentucky Owl batch ever, and we agree. </p><p>The original Kentucky Owl Whiskey was made by <em>Charles Mortimer Dedman</em> in the late 1800s. After every drop of this “Wise Man’s Whiskey” in inventory was, ahem… “confiscated” by federal agents under mysterious circumstances at the start of Prohibition, the <em>C.M. Dedman Distillery </em>faded into history. But just a few years ago his great-great-grandson — Dixon Dedman — revived the brand, creating the Kentucky Owl Bourbons and Ryes as <em>small batch</em>,<em> super-premium Spirit blends.</em> </p><p>Kentucky Owl is developing a <em>cult-like following of fans</em> who wait eagerly for each release. And no wonder… these things are powerful examples of quality and passion for the Spirits. <em>Kentucky Owl Batch 9</em> is the latest release and — according to Dixon Dedman himself — “… is the most robust Kentucky Owl batch I’ve ever created.”</p><p>It’s crafted from <em>four different sourced distillates</em> with <em>four different mash bills</em>. One of the components is aged fifteen years, two are aged fourteen years, one twelve years, and a seven year-old makes up the rest. The resulting <em>10,314</em> bottles are bottled at a blistering<em> 63.8%</em> ABV, so we recommend serving it on the rocks.</p>
