:Kerner is a cross between the German varieties Trollinger (Schiava) and Riesling. This powerful white wine shows a straw yellow colour with green reflexes, a complex bouquet of lime, peaches and hints of mango and has a wonderful mouth fill and structure without missing the acidity that gives him the freshness in the aftertaste.Grape variety:Kerner – South Tyrol DOCProduction area:Selected vineyards at an altitude of almost 1.000m in a small town around Cortaccia. The cooler microclimate in this altitude with its high temperature differences (~15°C between day and night) is ideal for the achievement of some typical aromatic compounds in this grape variety.Vinification:Moraine sediments and high calcareous content soils with sandy parts.Food pairing:A very complex and versatile wine that can be paired to many dishes.Serving temperature:10 – 12°C.Ageing potential:more than 5 years.Bottle to:750 ml – 75 cl – 0,75 lt.Allergens:wine can contain suphites.Producer:Castelfeder WineryThe Castelfeder Estate Winery was founded in Egna more than 50 years ago by Alfons Giovanett, but since that time, hardly anything has remained the same. “The product line has been expanded, production has increased, the processes in the winery have been modernized, and the market has become more international,” says Günther Giovanett, who took over the estate from his father Alfons and runs it with his children Ivan and Ines. Today, the Castelfeder Estate Winery encompasses 65 hectares, on which 70 percent is planted with white wine varieties.“The focus is on Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc,” Giovanett explains. With the red wines, the concentration is on Pinot Noir.Tenuta Castelfeder – Fam. GiovanettVia Franz Harpf 15IT – 39040 Cortina sulla strada del Vino (BZ)info
