<p>A Nordic rye Gin that beat 150 others as the best G&T Gin.</p><p>The idea for <em>Kyrö Distillery Company</em> came about when a bunch of friends were hanging in the sauna and sipping on Rye ― which is undoubtedly how many great stories start in Finland. The beverage on hand probably had something to do with the distillery focusing on <em>rye Spirit exclusively.</em> After a little bit of tinkering and distilling at home, they found an old dairy where their very own stills started running in 2014. With their maturing Whisky safely tucked away, they <em>turned to Gin</em> in the meantime. The first award came practically instantly and their stock was sold out in a matter of days.</p><p>Only Finnish wholegrain rye goes into <em>Kyrö Gin </em>(formerly known as Napue). What started as a way to keep themselves busy while waiting for the Whisky to mature, turned out to be a delicious Spirit! <em>13 traditional botanicals</em> serve as the base and the remaining 4 are foraged locally. It’s the meadowsweet, sea buckthorn, cranberries, and birch leaves that give the modern Gin a fresh Nordic twist. That award we mentioned earlier? Kyrö Gin won<em> “The World’s Best Gin for Gin&Tonic”</em> trophy at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, beating some 150 other entries. Impressive, right? </p><p><em>*Kyrö Distillery has recently changed their labels, and as the original labels are being phased out, there is still a chance that you might receive a bottle different than what is pictured. But rest assured, the liquid remains the same, regardless of the label.</em></p>
