<p>:The Klosteranger has an intense garnet color and a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose, with notes of coffee and dark berries and a hint of raspberry. On the palate, the wine has firm tannins, a fresh acidity, delicate and elegant fullness and depth. The single-site Lagrein is wonderfully complex and persistent and delights the palate with its multi-layered structure. The Klosteranger is a historical single site protected by the old monastery wall at the heart of Muri-Gries. It offers the perfect terroir for the Lagrein Riserva Vigna Klosteranger: an expressive single-vineyard wine as the product of the authentic interpretation of terroir and grape variety, concentrated and honest.Grape variety:Lagrein – South Tyrol Lagrein Riserva DOC Weingarten/Vigna Klosteranger.Production area:These Lagrein grapes flourish in the center of Gries/Bolzano at an altitude of 280 m. The historical vineyard is integrated in the monastery grounds, where the soil is made up of alluvial materials from the River Talfer overlying Bolzano quartz-porphyry.Vinification:After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged in new barriques for 22months followed by harmonization in enamelled steel tanks and careful bottling after light filtration.Food pairing:Best enjoyed slightly below room temperature with braised game, lightly roasted beef and spicy cheese dishes.Serving temperature:16 – 18°C.Ageing potential:more than 10 years.Bottle to:1500 ml – 150 cl – 1.5 lt. magnum bottle.Allergens:Wine can contain sulphites.Producer:Wine Estate Monastery Cellar Muri-GriesIn 1845 the Benedictines moved from Muri in Switzerland to Gries in South Tyrol, where the order took over the Augustinian monastery. In so doing, they inherited a long tradition of wine-growing, which they nurtured in the spirit of a symbiosis of monastery, winery and estate that is still very much in evidence today. The result, in the 21st century, is a range of top-quality wines from MURI-GRIES like the Abtei Muri line, which has been produced from selected grapes from the very best sites since 1989. The MURI-GRIES wine estate comprises 35 hectares of vineyards in excellent locations in and around Bolzano and Appiano. The monastery vineyards offer an outstanding terroir, combining excellent soils with a highly favourable climate.Tenuta cantina convento Muri GriesPiazza Gries 21IT – 39100 Bolzano (BZ)infoLagrein Riserva Vigna Klosteranger Magnum 2016 – 13,5% vol.
