<p>An aromatic and alluring botanical Liqueur that contains the heart and soul of a country. </p><p>The Spirit that would become <em>the most popular drink in Portugal </em>was developed over many years, but it became standardized and received its name in 1929. The strain of World War II nearly killed of the factory. But <em>Jose Carranca Redondo</em> invested his savings to buy the secret recipe where it became a <em>homemade, family operation.</em> Still owned and run by José’s descendants, the company still produces their famous Licor Beirāo.</p><p><em>Licor Beirão </em>— the name has become virtually synonymous with Portuguese culture. The roots of this dram go back two centuries. But in its current form it is a botanical Liqueur with <em>secret recipe </em>of thirteen herbs, seeds, and spices that are cold-infused for at least three weeks. It is then <em>gently distilled twice</em> to refine the flavor profile and bottled at <em>22%</em> ABV. Each bottled is tied with a yellow ribbon by hand.</p>
