<p>A fine Speyside Single Malt with lots of character.</p><p><em>Ian MacLeod & Company LTD </em>was founded in <em>1933 </em>as a Scottish Whisky broker — buying, selling, trading production lots from the major distilleries around Scotland. Over the years the company has grown quite a bit, including more than<em> three dozen house brands</em> and an untold number of private label offerings. Now owned by the <em>Russell family</em>, they run the gamut from Whiskies to Vodkas to Rums, but their core business is still Scotch Whisky.</p><p><em>Macleods Speyside Single Mal</em>t hails from Speyside, the home to ancient clans and more than half of Scottish distilleries. The exact distillery of this fantastic bottling remains<em> a secret </em>but we’ll tell you what we do know. The nose is one of the more intriguing ones we’ve ever seen with lots of fruit, a touch of Sherry, raisins, walnut, and malt. So complex! The palate continues with the Sherry vibes, oranges, chocolate, salted caramel, and a hint of oak. This is a brilliant example of a <em>light Speysider with a ton of character.</em> </p>
