WHITE WINE / ORGANIC / SPANISH

A standout volcanic white wine from the heart of the Canary Islands. Tense, mineral, and refreshingly saline, this organic Spanish wine delivers a punchy dose of island character. Crafted by ex-Man City star David Silva in partnership with rising winemaking talent Jonathan García, it’s a bold, refined take on Malvasía Volcánica: one of the most exciting indigenous grapes in Spain. Best enjoyed as an aperitif or alongside simply grilled seafood.

Origin: Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain

Producer: Bodegas Tamerán

Vintage: 2021

Grape varieties: Malvasia

Food pairings: Fish and seafood, rice dishes, aperitif

ABV: 12%

Flavour Profile

Aromatic and mineral-driven. Expect citrus peel, dried herbs, volcanic ash, and a whisper of sulphur on the nose. The palate is taut and linear, with razor-sharp acidity, gentle smokiness, and a long, briny finish. This is a wine of pure terroir: salty, structured, and uncompromising.

About the Winery

Bodegas Tamerán was founded in 2019 by footballer David Silva on his native island of Gran Canaria. Teaming up with respected Canary winemaker Jonathan García (Suertes del Marqués), they’ve created a visionary organic wine project focused on small parcels, native grapes, and volcanic expression. Tamerán wines are wild-fermented, low-intervention, and intensely expressive of their land.

About Canary Wines

Canary Islands wines are gaining cult status for a reason. Grown on volcanic soils at high altitudes and cooled by Atlantic breezes, they deliver electric acidity, minerality, and an unmistakable salty edge. Indigenous varieties like Malvasía, Vijariego, and Listán thrive here, untouched by phylloxera and rooted in centuries-old traditions.

How to Pair It

With its crisp acidity and saline finish, this wine shines alongside grilled seafood, citrusy ceviche, or a plate of salted almonds. It’s also great with seafood paella or aged goat cheese, drawing out both freshness and depth.
