<p>Almost coppery pink in the glass, with a warm bouquet of complex, savoury and umami with more flavours of apricot, tamarind and black tea. All this richness is perfectly balanced by fine tannins, fluidity, and vibrant acidity.</p><p>Hand harvested Mtsvane grapes from the old vineyard undergo a 5-month fermentation on skins in qvevri, the traditional large clay amphorae, which are buried underground. Only 1800 bottles are made every vintage. </p><p> Marina Kurtanidze, alongside Tea Melanashvili, established the first female-led Georgian winery in 2012. Under the name Mandili, they began producing natural wines using the traditional kvevri method, gaining international recognition. Marina later joined her husband Iago Bitarishvili who is another of Georgia’s natural winemaking pioneers.
