Meerlust‘Rubicon’2022

<p>Meerlust Rubicon is the flagship wine of the iconic Meerlust Estate, and is one of our all-time favourites. Rubicon is Stellenbosch’s answer to top Claret, made from a similar blend, and aiming for that same finesse and complexity. Ripe and plummy, with power as well as freshness. Flavours of plum and cassis are layered with vanilla and woody notes from 16 months barrel ageing prior to bottling. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives depth, structure and intensity, with soft fruitiness from the Merlot and Cabernet Franc. An iconic wine which has long been a favourite of ours, and we are very proud to be stocking.Meerlust Estate has been the pride of the Myburgh family since 1756. Today, the dedication to quality winemaking continues under the guidance of 8th generation, Hannes Myburgh and Cellar Master Chris Williams.
