Its nose is dominated by seeded white fruits which blend with notes of freshly baked bread. </p><p> The high proportion of Pinot Noir grapes is expressed in a palate of ripe apple and pear aromas which climax in a delightfully fresh finish. </p><p> Brut cuvee is the reference for the house style, reflecting the vivacity, fresh aromas and fruity notes which are the Mercier trademarks. </p><p>Eugene Mercier founded his own champagne house in 1858 at the tender age of twenty. He had set himself the ambitious goal of bringing high-quality champagne to the general public. </p><p> When he died in 1904 Eugene Mercier had achieved his life’s ambition. Mercier was already one of the leading traders in the Champagne region and his son-in-law and sons were ready to take up the reins with justifiable pride. </p><p> In 1970 Maison Mercier merged with Moet & Chandon, and then, in 1987, joined the LVMH group – France’s leading luxury goods specialist.</p>
