<p>A classy Cognac with a rich history.</p><p>The roots of the <em>Meukow House </em>go back to 1850<em>. Tsar Alexander II</em> of Russia loved him some good Cognac and he really didn’t want to run out of it at any moment, so he sent two brothers<em> August-Cristophe</em> and <em>Gustav Meukow</em> from Silesia to France to get that royal supply chain set up. Eventually, after the two brothers had been going back and forth between France and Russia for a while, which probably wasn’t so effortless back then, they decided to settle down in the town of Cognac and open up <em>A.C. MEUKOW & Co. </em>on August 1, 1862. The legendary Cognac House is still going strong today as it became part of the family-owned and independent Compagnie de Guyenne, founded by<em> Michel Coste </em>in 1979 and that’s when their range really took off. Today, you can get Meukow Cognac in more than 80 countries and the House is led by Michel’s children.</p><p><em>Meukow VS Cognac</em> is the fittingly impressive overachiever child of the Meukow House. One of their flagship offerings, this is an elegant and well-balanced Cognac blend that manages to bring together the roundness of <em>fruity flavors </em>and <em>the delicate woody notes</em>. It’s bottled at 80 proof with a Russian black panther adorning the classy bottle. Meow!
