<p>Montesodi Marchesi Frescobaldi 2018 – Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCGFrom this plot, always known by everyone as Montesodi due to the stony nature of the land, was born in1974 the first Cru of Chianti Rufina. It represents the wine of my youth and of my most beautiful memories at the CastleNipozzano, a Sangiovese of extreme elegance and liveliness, capable of exciting me even after decades.</p><p><p>Climate trend</p><p>A cold winter, especially in the last period, in which several rainy and snowy events were recorded, was followed by a variable spring. This is because sunny days and rainy days, even quite intense ones, alternated. These rains helped restore water reserves. Thanks to the higher spring temperatures, the phenological phases took place in line with the season. High temperatures were also recorded throughout the summer period. The stormy showers of the second half of August brought the cooling necessary for splendid maturation. The temperature range in the month of September helped in the aromatic synthesis and maintenance of freshness, typical of the wines produced at Castello Nipozzano. </p></p><p>Tasting notes</p><p>Montesodi 2018 has a wonderful, clear and brilliant ruby ​​red color. The sense of smell is pervaded with fruity and floral sensations accompanied by elegant tertiary notes. Among the floral notes we recognize violet and rosacanina, while the fruity ones range from berries, strawberry and cherry. The hematic note on the finish is impressive, which makes Montesodi a unique wine of its kind, thanks also to the spicy note represented by the clove and black pepper. On the palate, the elegance and silkiness of the tannins that accompany the tasting are absolutely incredible. The finish is long and persistent. </p><p>
