<p>The total eclipse of Rum.</p><p>The story of <em>Mount Gay Rum</em> begins in the year <em>1703,</em> on the <em>Caribbean island of Barbados</em>, when John Sober <em>(seriously…)</em>, inherited a distillery, and invited Sir John Gay to help manage it. <em>Sir John Gay</em> jumped at the opportunity to give the Barbadians something <em>special</em>. He refined the production process and began producing noticeably superior product that has survived to this day. Mount Gay is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, Rum brands in the World.</p><p><em>Mount Gay Eclipse</em> is the measure used by <em>Master Distiller Allen Smith</em> to judge all other Mount Gay products. This is surely a testament to its <em>greatness</em>. It was named after the <em>“double phenomenon”</em> that took place when a solar eclipse occurred at the same time as <em>Halley’s comet</em> passed earth in <em>1910</em>. The flavors capture its island home, with a <em>thick sweetness</em> and rich fruity tang throughout. It rounds off well with a mouth watering <em>spicy kick.</em></p>
