After his tour of duty ended, he stayed to work in the Rum industry to found<em> Oliver & Oliver.</em> In Cuba’s second war for independence, the plantation and distillery were destroyed. But a century later his great-great-grandson re-founded the family business — this time in the Dominican Republic. To this day they make some of the most sought-after Rums for consumers all over the world. More than twenty years ago they established a new brand name — <em>Opthimus </em>— that would allow them to also collect <em>some of the best Rum distillates</em> from existing distilleries in the Caribbean and Central America to add to their collection.</p><p>Oliver & Oliver makes a<em> range of premium Spirits.</em> Their Opthimus range is designed to be the top-of-the-line for Rums in every way. <em>Opthimus 25 Year Old Rum</em> is a blend of Rums from the Dominican Republic that have been aged Solera-style in American and French oak casks.
