Balido means “bleating” in Spanish. A nod to the sheep that roam the vineyards while the vines lie dormant. Though primarily Trebbiano, this amber-hued wine gets its distinctive glow from Petit Manseng skins after 90 days of maceration. Aromas of dried apricot, mandarin peel, and wild herbs lead to a light palate with minimal tannins – an ideal introduction to skin-contact wines. The clean, mineral finish carries a touch of orange peel and tea-leaf bitterness.

Cerro Chapeu, located deep in the Uruguayan Pampas near the Brazilian border, is led by Pía and Piero Carrau, the third generation of a family that has always farmed with deep respect for nature, allowing local flora and fauna – and their vineyard sheep – to thrive.

Origin: Pampas, UruguayVintage: 2025Grape varieties: Trebbiano, Petit MansengFood pairings: Grilled salmon, roast pork, aged Comté or spiced nuts Bottle size: 75clABV: 11.5%

ORGANIC/ VEGAN
