<p>TASTING NOTESSweet cherries, vanilla, and subtle tobacco on the nose. Layers of fresh fruit arecomplemented by savoury notes on the palate. This is a rich, complex wine with silkytannins and a lingering finish.</p><p>AGEING POTENTIALThis wine will continue to improve with a few years of bottle age from vintage.</p><p>THE VINEYARDPinotage came from a very large block of dry farmed grapes in the Voor Paardeberg,Carignan from 45-year-old vines in Wellington, Tempranillo and Durif from Franschhoekand Grenache from Wellington.</p><p>WINEMAKINGHarvest date: Pinotage end Jan 2019; Carignan early March; Tempranillo & Durif midMarch; Grenache various.Fermentation: Mostly in small, open fermenters, regular punch downs.Maturation: Carignan – flex cubes, French oak staves (with toasting for Rhone varietals);Durif – 100% new oak barrels; Tempranillo – mixed age oak barrels; Grenache – olderoak barrels.</p>
