It was established in <em>1821</em>, the year when the great Napoleon croaked. By 1900, it was the <em>number 1 selling Calvados in France. </em>Ah, yeah, what exactly is Calvados, you ask. It’s an apple Brandy made exclusively in the Normandy region. The<em> “eau de vie de cidre”</em>, as the French call it, is actually distilled cider, which is made from specially grown apples. Not every apple is good enough for this Spirit. <em>Pere Magloire</em> is still the leading brand of Calvados in France and the rest of the world.</p><p><em>Pere Magloire Fine V.S.</em> is a fresh and fruity Calvados that’s different than their other offerings as it’s made from a single continuous distillation in <em>copper stills</em> to really concentrate those apple aromas. By blending the<em> fruitiest Cuvées</em> and aging them in <em>barrels made of century-old oak</em>, the end result is bursting with flavors of green apple, apple sugar, and vanilla. Adored by both Calvados beginners and the pros, it won Gold at the<em> 2017 San Francisco World Spirit Competition.</em></p>
