ORGANIC / BIODYNAMIC / VEGAN / NATURAL / LOW SULPHITE

Renegado is a spritzy field blend with endless charm. Refreshing and food-friendly, this Portuguese Pet Nat (or PT Nat as they call it) blends both red and white for a blast of fruit, lovely acidity and lots of fun.

Origin: Douro, Portugal

Producer: Folias de Baco

Vintage: 2022

Grape variety: Field blend (red and white indigenous varieties)

Food pairings: Snacks and nibbles, seafood, BBQ or on its own

Bottle size: 75cl

ABV: 11%

Flavour profile

Fresh and fruit-forward, with notes of wild strawberry, cherry, and pink grapefruit. There’s a subtle herbal edge and a tangy finish that keeps things zippy and dry. Naturally sparkling and unfiltered, it’s slightly cloudy in the glass with a gentle fizz and a light touch of funk.

About Folias de Baco winery

Folias de Baco is the project of Tiago Sampaio, a young winemaker with a PhD in viticulture and a passion for pushing boundaries. Based in the Douro Valley, he farms old vines organically and crafts wines with minimal intervention under the Uivo label (which means “howl” in Portuguese — a nod to the wolves that roam the region). His wines are playful, pure, and always rooted in the land.

About Pet Nat

Pétillant Naturel (or Pet Nat for short) is a naturally sparkling wine made using the ancient method, where fermentation finishes in the bottle, creating bubbles without added sugar or yeast. The result? A lightly fizzy, unfiltered wine with a raw, lively character. Often slightly cloudy, Pet Nats are unpredictable, joyful, and full of personality.

How to pair it

Pet Nat Renegado is super food-friendly and built for sharing. Try it with charcuterie, grilled veggies, light pasta dishes, or even tacos. Its bright acidity and soft bubbles make it a great match for salty snacks, picnic fare, and spicy food, or just enjoy it chilled on a sunny day with friends.
