Floral nose with notes of hawthorn, acacia, but also citrus fruit. Round and mineral wine in the mouth with a grapefruit finish.Picpoul is an ancient variety, with vines growing in the Hérault region two thousand years’ ago. The wines of Pinet were first mentioned in writing during the 16th century and were cited as one of the most renowned noble grape varieties in the Languedoc. A separate AOP was only granted for the wines as recently as 2013. The grape retains its fresh acidity and makes it ideal for white wine production in the hot, Mediterranean climate. Over half of all white wines in the region are made from the Picpoul grape.Domaine des Lauriers is a family wine estate located in Languedoc-Roussillon, between Sète and Montpellier. It is operated by the Cabrol family, who have been harvesting and producing since 1969.Food Match: Picpoul is perfect with the iodine/salty character of shellfish, crustaceans and fish.
