Made from a blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre, this wine boasts red berry and floral notes with a light tannic grip that adds to its complexity. It sees a short 3-day skin contact fermentation before continuing for five months in old barriques, after which it is racked into stainless steel for six another weeks before bottling, resulting in a light, juicy and fun rosé that is dangerously drinkable…</p><p>Jurgen Gouws, the producer behind Intellego Wines, is part of the new wave of winemakers in South Africa’s Swartland region, with a philosophy of natural and sustainable production. He aims to create fresh and drinkable wines without heavy extraction of new oak barrels, and his fun and informal bottles and labels reflect his goal of making wines that are approachable and accessible to everyone.
