:Color: intensive light straw yellow with delicate greenish reflections. Nose: Terlano’s rarity wine has an impressive freshness and a wealth of aromas, with new components revealed at every tasting, including herbal notes of camomile, lemon balm and lovage together with a hint of dried kaki and apricot. The multifaceted bouquet also displays aromas of bread crust and yeast bun paired with flint. Taste: The wine is smooth and creamy on the palate, with a strong acid backbone that leaves a both youthful and delicate impression and strikes a fine balance with the mineral components. The finish is elegant and silky, but also enormously deep and firm.Grape variety:Pinot Bianco – Terlano South Tyrol DOCProduction area:Terlano is a wine-growing village located halfway between Alto Adige’s main towns of Merano and Bolzano where the Adige flows through a wide valley in a south-easterly direction. The village and vineyards nestle against the red porphyry rock of Monte Tschöggl on the orographically left side of the valley. Sandy-stony, well-drained soils.Vinification:Manual harvest and selection of the grapes; gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation; slow fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with partial malolactic fermentation (50%) and aging on the lees in big wooden barrels for 12 months; further aging on the lees in steel pressure tanks without filtering or fining for at least ten years.Food pairing:The ideal meditation wine. Excellent with poached lobster and sautéed mussels, also in combination with taglierini with butter and white truffles, and with beef carpaccio with fresh Alba truffles or a veal sirloin steak.Serving temperature:12 – 14°C.Ageing potential:8 – 10 years.Bottle size:750 ml – 75 cl – 0,75 lt.Allergens:Wine can contain sulphites.Producer:Terlano WineryTerlano’s tradition as a wine terroir dates back over 2000 years. That vines thrive so well in the lee of Monzoccolo is due to the mild, almost Mediterranean climate with hot sunny days and cool nights during the ripening time. The striking red, easily warmed porphyry soil of Terlano also contributes to the high quality of the grapes. In the heart of this South Tyrolean wine region the Terlano winery was established in 1893. Today the co-operative has over 200 members and a total area of 240 hectares. 70% of the vineyard acreage is planted with white grapes. In modern cellars the fruits of this careful, natural cultivation are turned into wine with that perfect touch and the necessary controls.Because of the mineral content of the wines the region of Terlano is also frequently likened to French vine growing areas. The Terlano wine characteristics, the precise fruit, and the fine yet strong aroma lead experts to compare the wine with mature vintage Champagnes.Cantina TerlanoVia Silberleiten 7IT – 39018 Terlano (BZ)officePinot Blanc Rarity (only on request) – 2010 14% vol. – Terlano Wine…
