<p>:Color: light straw-yellow. Nose: ripe pear, hazelnut, honeydew melon and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Taste: the wine is round and smooth on the palate with light undertones of wood on the finish.Grape variety:Pinot Grigio – South Tyrol DOCProduction area:Northeast facing slope at 250 – 300 meters above sea level, a rather breezy vineyard that has a relatively warm micro-climate, despite its altitude; this combination allows a high degree of ripeness without danger of Botrytis. Heavy soils, primarily loamy, weathered chalk.Vinification:Whole-cluster pressing of ripe and healthy grapes, slow fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18°C (20% in tonneaux), five-month ageing on the fine lees, filtering and bottling in March.Food pairing:This wine is an excellent accompaniment to mushroom dishes, fish and seafood. The last step in the creation of a combined winery was taken in 2016. Today Cantina Kaltern it is a co-op winery of 700 families that look after the almost 490 ha of vineyards. The winery is a landmark for the wines produced in the Lake Kaltern area and the wine under the famous appellation of “Kalterersee” travels the world. They offer moments of relaxed, light heartedness and trigger the wanderlust of experience this unique region.
