<p>:The oscillation between warm Mediterranean days and cool nights condenses the flavors, without losing that distinctive Burgundian finesse. In the nose the Glen Riserva is fine and fresh, characterized by an elegant sweetness reminiscent of mallow. It is velvety on the palate, with a striking flavor of wild berries; echoes of fresh raspberries and wild cherries lend a juicy, delicately spicy backbone to its mellow, fruity sweetness.Grape variety:Pinot Noir – South Tyrol DOC RiservaProduction area:Our Pinot noir is named after the village of Glen, located across the valley from Kurtatsch. It is the only wine that is not sourced entirely from the municipality of Kurtatsch. Since Pinot Noir is highly demanding as a variety, and requires a habitat that fulfills very specific requirements, it was planted where it grows best. Afternoon sun, a unique conglomerate soil composed of clay, lime and porphyry, and altitudes between 450 and 650 meters offer ideal conditions for an elegant Pinot Noir.Vinification:Controlled fermentation in vats of French oak; Aging: 85% in large oak barrels (30 hl) and 15% in barriques.Food pairing:Serving temperature:16 – 18°C.Ageing potential:more than 8 years.Bottle to:750 ml – 75 cl – 0,75 lt.Allergens:wine can contain sulphites.Producer:Kurtatsch WineryVineyards on breathtakingly steep slopes from 220-900m a.s.l. – such a large difference in altitude within one municipality is unique in Europe. The low elevations are among the warmest in Alto Adige and are perfect for important red wines. On the high-altitude sites above the main village of Kurtatsch, the white varieties find ideal conditions. The wide array of elevations and soil types dictates the philosophy of the province’s southernmost cooperative: to produce distinctive wines that reflect their growing site, their terroir, in the best way possible.A young team, since 2014 led by the winery’s president, Andreas Kofler, has oriented the winery towards sustainable management. Thanks to the 190 small-structured family farms that cultivate 190 hectares of vineyards, the best grape material for each individual location can be selected. This and the precise vinification of the individual vineyard sites create distinctive and unmistakable wines which truly reflect their place of origin. The result: fresh, mineral white wines from high locations and long-lasting red wines from warm locations.Cantina KurtatschStrada del Vino 23IT – 39040 – Cortaccia (BZ) Noir Riserva Glen 2017/18 – 14% vol.
