<p>French Champagne meets Scottish Gin.</p><p>In 2009, <em>Ben Iravani </em>opened a trendy bar in <em>Aberdeen, Scotland. </em>Even as that business flourished, he had dreams of something more. <em>Alex Lawrence</em> joined the bar team and shared the passion for crafting a custom Spirit. Soon they had recruited a local friend — <em>Josh Rennie</em> — to join them. And after years of experimentation they came up with their ideal recipe of botanicals infusions and a unique method to extract them using<em> cold vacuum distillation</em> to avoid heating up the ingredients. They were helped to create their special vacuum still by <em>Professor Andrew Porter of the University of Aberdeen</em> and named their Spirit after him.</p><p>The guys aren’t strangers to fine French Wines either and they have a special penchant for Blanc de Blanc Champagne. Voilà, l’inspiration pour<em> Porter’s Orchard Gin</em>. Inspired by Champagne’s Chardonnay grapes and that <em>intense fruitiness</em>, it was crafted from 100% British wheat with cold-distilled green apples and pears over their classic juniper base. The innovation doesn’t stop there, though. A soybean distillate is used to leave behind sophisticated butter and biscuit notes. Enjoy this one in a G&T with a an apple slice for garnish or make the French 75 cocktail with a twist.</p>
