<p>A rebirth of the true British Navy Rum.</p><p>Back when the British Navy was the <em>mightiest seafaring force</em> the World has ever seen, the sailors received a government-issued daily tot of <em>Navy Strength Rum</em>. You know, for courage and, um, thirst? Anyway, until the Queen decided in <em>1970</em> that giving Rum to armed men on active duty was a tad irresponsible, a Navy officer called Pusser was in charge of supplying the grit Spirit. On July 31 of said year, the final tot was issued, but nearly a decade later, <em>Charles Tobias</em> obtained the rights to the recipe of the famous Navy Rum: a careful blend of five <em>West Indian Rums</em> with a proper punch.</p><p>Now, <em>Pusser</em> released a <em>Navy-inspired blend</em> with a new recipe that spent a decade and a half in charred oak barrels (the Rum, not the recipe). The new concoction replaced the now unavailable <em>15-year-old Rum</em> sourced by <em>Trinidad Distillers</em> with a similar Spirit from Guyana. The best Rum in the World thus went through an overhaul, with a rebranding to match it. The rebirth has tropical aromas of Demerara sugar, molasses, and dried fruits, with a lovely spicy nose. <em>3,000</em> cases were made, and the Rum is bottled at 40% ABV. If there ever was a sipping Rum, this is it. Ahoy!</p>
