And the British Navy provided their seamen with endless rations of Rum for centuries – until the infamous <em>Black Tot Day </em>in <em>1970</em>, when the Navy abolished the generous Spirit allowance. Nine years after the Naval Prohibition, <em>Charles Tobias </em>obtained the rights and the recipe, and established Pusser’s Ltd. in the <em>British Virgin Islands.</em> They have been producing fine Rums since then and their Gunpowder Proof Rum is one of the latest additions to the roster and a lovely naval reboot.</p><p><em>Pusser’s Navy Rum Original Admiralty Rum </em>is a Royal Navy style rum that’s based on the the Admiralty’s blending recipe. The recipe was last used when the Royal Navy put a stop to its daily ration on <em>31 July 1970 a.k.a. Black Tot Da</em>y. This unique Rum was blended and then re-distilled with the vintage Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still, which was used by the Admiralty <em>over 250 years ago. </em>The final result is full, round, and absolutely perfect for your cocktails.</p>
