<p>A well-balanced Cognac from Rémy Martin that should be the go-to in your Liquor cabinet. </p><p><em>Charente </em>is an historic town in the Aquitaine region of France — smack dab in the middle of the <em>Grand Champagne Cru of Cognac. </em>As Catherine I rose from servant to Czarina of Russia and Pope Benedict XIII was installed in the Vatican, the House of Rémy Martin was founded on the banks of the <em>Charente River </em>nearly three hundred years ago in <em>1724</em>.</p><p>They began as a trading house run by Paul-Emile Rémy Martin. Today, it’s <em>one of the world’s largest and best-known </em>Cognac houses with a dozen core offerings and many special releases and limited editions.</p><p>In 1927, <em>André Renaud </em>— cellar master at Rémy Martin — created the world’s first VSOP Cognac. Today’s version of this classic is <em>Rémy Martin VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac.</em></p><p>Like the rest of the core lineup at Rémy Martin, it’s created from 85% Grande Champagne and 15% Petite Champagne grapes. And as a VSOP, you know that the Spirit has been aged a minimum of four years in <em>new Limousin oak.</em></p><p>If you are going to stock a Cognac in your home bar, this is a great choice.
