<p>Vega Crianza Rioja, Spain, 2021Grapes: A blend of 77% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano & 3% Mazuelo, 20 year old vines, low sulphites 39 ppmProducer Tasting Note:Intense, cherry-red colour. On the nose, there are notes of ripe fruit (blackcurrants and cherries) which are well integrated with toasted aromas of cinnamon, caramelised toffee and butter. On the palate, this is a velvety wine with good structure and good fruit levels. High quality tannins abound.Alcoholic fermentation for 6 days, following by skin contact maceration for 5 days. Fermentation was carried out at 28ºC with malolactic in stainless steel tanks. 12 months’ ageing in American oak with 2 rackings followed by a minimum of 6 months in bottle until going on sale.Critic’s Tasting Note:”A savory and tangy Rioja with notes of plums, chocolate, walnuts and tobacco.
