ORGANIC

A fascinating and unique take on Galician white wine. To make it, equal parts Palomino, Treixadura and Albariño grapes are harvested from a variety of vineyards that might only have the one or two white grapevines hiding away amongst the red Mencía, and which are harvested according to when each vine achieves optimal ripeness. The Albariño and Treixadura are cofermented and aged together, whilst the Palomino is given the solo treatment as its naturally more neutral character represents the individual terroir better. This is a rich and concentrated wine with the proper freshness of its Galician terroir. Flavours of green apple, lime, and citrus peel dominate from the outset, complemented by a nice weight and biscuity flavours from the 8 months of lees aging, as well as a clean saline minerality that shines through throughout.

Silice Viticultores is a small winery located in the Ribeira Sacra region of Galicia, Spain. It was founded in 2013 by three friends: brothers Carlos and Juan Rodriguez, and Galician-Swiss DJ-turned-winemaker Fredi Torres, who were drawn to the ancient Sil River Canyon and its near-mythical winemaking potential.

Origin: Rias Baixas, SpainVintage: 2022Grape varieties: Equal parts: Albariño, Palomino, TreixaduraFood pairings: Seafood, Galician Octopus, Shellfish, Soft Cheeses or ManchegoBottle size: 75clABV: 12%
