<p>This Gin is an elegant dance of North Frisian chic and German attention to detail. </p><p>Picture this: a surreally beautiful island with long, sandy beaches in the North Sea, <em>Sylt </em>is famous for being a chic, exclusive getaway destination. But as they say, no good story starts with a glass of water (or in this case, an island ) and this one, too, started with a <em>glass of excellent Vodka</em> in Manne Pahl, a Michelin restaurant in Kampen, Sylt. In 1989, <em>Pius Regli </em>and <em>Jörg Hinck </em>came up with a very erm, interesting idea to found a <em>Ski Club</em> on Sylt, an island with no mountains and not a whole lot of snow. Since the skiing part has been rather limited on Sylt, this small drinking club focused more on<em> quality Spirit production</em> and quite successfully so. No wonder, since their distillery, located in Germany, dates back to <em>1864 </em>and its owners were granted the license to distill in the<em> 15th century.</em></p><p>Like all their premium Spirits, North Sea Gin is based on <em>Skiclub Kampen North Sea Vodka. </em>Made from wheat, which is sown, grown and harvested on their 24 hectare farm, it is then <em>distilled five times </em>in copper stills. As a final step, a unique silverdust filter is used to eliminate acidic components and fusel oils, which explains the <em>exceptionally mild taste</em> of this Gin. After adding high-quality botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander, lavender, marjoram and lemon balm, we are left with a super delicate, aromatic Gin. So good, in fact, it received a <em>Gold Medal</em> in 2019 at the prestigious International Spirits Challenge. In its desginer white matte bottle, it’s the quintessential Northern style meeting German quality.</p>
