<p>ORGANIC / BIODYNAMIC / VEGAN / LOW SULPHITE</p><p>This is a rich and expressive Rioja, made in a way that celebrates the grapes and region to their fullest. On the nose there is vanilla and baking spices, as well as a woody cedar note. On the palate it is balanced, with bright red fruit flavours and well-integrated, fine tannins, as well as a long, rich finish. Only 960 bottles of this astounding Rioja were produced, with the grapes coming from a century old, one hectare vineyard; where they are hand-harvested and aged in French Oak barrels to lend structure and depth to the finished product. </p><p>Originally from Hawaii, Melanie Hickman farms in the most traditional way possible: using a horse for the ploughing, crushing the grapes using foot stomping, and harvesting in accordance with biodynamic principles.
