The distillery uses time-honoured techniques passed down through generations, as well as modern innovations, to create their multi-award winning rums.The Crafting ProcessFor Tanduay Gold Rum, Tanduay starts with their signature white rum made from the finest Philippine molasses. This rum is then aged for up to 12 long years in charred American white oak barrels. The tropical Philippine climate allows for optimal maturation, with the intense heat concentrating the rum as the angel’s share evaporates at a quick pace from the barrels.The charred oak imparts notes of spice, vanilla and toasted sugar, while the extended maturation develops rich flavours of molasses, honeyed fruits, and butterscotch. Tanduay’s expert master blenders carefully select and blend rums to create the consummate sipping rum.
