<p>That boutique-y rum company – TDL Fernandes, Trinidad Batch 1 – 19 YO (50CL, 57.4% Vol.)</p><p><p> The batch #1 of Caroni shows on the label a piece of the history of rum in Trinidad & Tobago: a scientist has developed a time machine to look at the past ofMr Fernandes. He must have had something to do with the 1932 fire that destroyed T&T Government Rum Bond, when Fernandes bought himself several barrels of exceptional vintages. This rum is aged for 19 years, bottled at 57.4%, not cold filtered and not artificially coloured, it is a limited edition of 522 specimens. </p></p><p>TASTING NOTES: </p><p><p>Aroma: Herbaceous, with notes of smoked rosemary, then vanilla and butterscotch, with dried mango. </p></p><p>Palate: Baked banana bread, butter and vanilla icing, bitter dried herbs.</p><p><p>Finish: Clean, with white pepper and lemon buds, bitter cocoa and custard. </p></p>
