ORGANIC / VEGAN / LOW SULPHITE

A scrumptious bottle of fizz, that’s essentially adult peach iced tea. Fresh and unfiltered, it’s a skin contact Pet Nat with very low intervention. Juicy, fragrant and did we mention juicy? Get into it.

Origin: Douro, Portugal

Producer: Folias de Baco

Vintage: 2022

Grape varieties: Moscatel Galego

Food pairings: Aperitif, or with snacks, salads and lighter fare

Bottle size: 75cl

ABV: 11%

Flavour profile

Fresh and fruity with a gentle fizz, this orange Pet Nat opens with notes of tangerine zest, apricot, and citrus blossom. There’s a touch of grip from the skins, balanced by soft bubbles and a subtle saline edge that keeps things bright and lively. It’s textured but easy-drinking, with a slightly wild character that make it a little adventurous.

About Folias de Baco

Founded by Tiago Sampaio, a trained viticulturist who studied in Oregon before returning to Portugal, Folias de Baco is one of the most exciting natural producers in the Douro. Tiago farms organically and works with native grapes, letting the region’s wild character shine. His wines are vibrant, raw, and packed with personality, always with minimal intervention and maximum drinkability.

About the Douro Valley

Famous for Port wine, the Douro Valley is now gaining recognition for a new generation of fresh, low-intervention wines. It’s a mountainous region with steep, schist-rich slopes and wild microclimates; perfect for expressive, terroir-driven wines. The old vines and native grape varieties here bring complexity, while the shift towards natural winemaking keeps things exciting and fresh.

How to Pair It

This is an easygoing, food-loving sparkler. Serve it with anything from fried snacks and fish tacos to charcuterie, grilled veg, or even a simple roast chicken. It’s also brilliant with dishes that play with spice or acidity; think ceviche, kimchi pancakes, or pad Thai. Or just chill it down and drink it on its own!
