<p>The van der Niepoort family are an iconic ‘legacy’ producer in Portugal dating back to 1842. Lesser-known than the big Port houses, in our view they are massively under-rated as a smaller, more precise winery and have a strong link with not just Port but also brilliant dry/table wines from all over Portugal.Deep in red and purple colour. The aromas open up with intense and rich herby blackcurrant and plum fruit with just a hint of new oak. The concentrated palate is chewy with notes of herbs, rich fruit and some tannic structure.
