<p>Warm, rich, dark + plummy. Wildsong is understated and delicious. We love Syrah…aha!</p><p>Bright, vibrant dark red fruits on the nose with sweet cardamom and cinnamon spice. Warm and rich on the palate with boysenberry, plum and dark roasted spices. Fresh and lively palate that finishes long and fine with just a hint of toasty oak.</p><p>We’ve made the Wildsong wines with an eye on evolving wine styles but mostly with an ambition to make honest wines that taste like where they come from while working hard to make sure we farm the right way.</p><p>These wines are up-front tasty, yet they’re not simple. Layered, interesting and backed by winemaking street-cred. Wildsong wines are uncomplicated and grounded with a gentle tale or two to tell of the soil they were grown in and the people who made them.</p><p>Grown with respect, made with heart and packed with attitude. There’s a little Wildsong in each of us.</p><p>Wildsong Syrah comes from our Bridge Pā vineyard, in the renowned region of the ‘Bridge Pā Triangle’. Consistently our warmest site, this land was formed around 40,000 years ago as the Ngaruroro River flooded and flowed through the region leaving greywacke stone in its wake. These free draining soils and warm climate allow for a beautiful depth and intensity in the resulting wines.</p><p>Cold soaked for three to four days before fermenting dry with indigenous yeast. Extended maceration on skins before being pressed off into barrel. Indigenous malolactic fermentation before 18 months maturing in a mixture of tank and seasoned French oak, before being bottled unfined.</p>
