<p>A rare Irish bottling.</p><p>Writers’ Tears Irish Whiskey not only has a peculiar name, but also some of the most amazing expressions, including the <em>annual Cask Strength line</em>. It’s straight-forward and unique in many ways. First, it’s a <em>rare blend</em> of aged <em>Single pot still</em> and<em> Single Malt</em>. Single pot still means it’s made by a single distillery from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in – you guessed it, a pot still. Fun fact: the idea of mixing barley came up in the 18th century when the King of England decided to tax malted barley.</p><p>Released in <em>2022</em>, comes the 12th vintage edition of <em>Writers’ Tears Cask Strength</em>. Only<em> 7,920 bottles</em> of it to be precise. You don’t find too many cask strength Irish Whiskeys out there but this one is even more unique: it’s a marriage of aged Single Pot Still and Single Malt Whiskey. Both were <em>triple-distilled</em>, <em>non-chill filtered</em> and aged in <em>American oak ex-Bourbon barrels</em>. The final result clocks in at <em>54.6</em>% ABV. Each bottle is numbered individually and signed by the creator <em>Bernard Walsh.</em> </p>
