<p>Xellent Gin is, in a word, excellent. </p><p><em>Hans Affentrange</em>r started distilling in the <em>small Swiss town</em> of Willisau in 1918. A few years later he founded Distillerie Willisau SA (DIWISA). Over the years the company has grown to a full-time staff of over one hundred producing a wide range of Europe’s more popular spirits brands, including Jägermeister, Trojka, Xellent, and dozens of additional brands that form the core of back-bars all of the EU. <em>The Xellent </em>line includes a <em>Swiss Vodka </em>and <em>Gin</em>.</p><p>Usually, the<em> best Rye grain</em> is sent to bakeries and the lower-quality seeds are sent to distilleries. But for their <em>award-winning Xellent Gin</em>, they take the grain as seriously as any Highland single malt master — selecting the best Picasso and Matador Rye seeds for their copper alembic stills. Distillation is slow and gentle to ensure only <em>the lightest, sweetest spirit</em> makes it into the bottles. And the <em>25 botanical infusions </em>are unique too — including lemon balm, edelweiss mountain flowers, woodruff, and lavender. The result is an exceptionally<em> fragrant and refreshing Gin</em> that emphasizes florals and grasses.</p>
